Personal loan refinance rates
Six lenders that fund their own loans and publish an APR range you can read on their own page. Ranked on the top of each range, not the advertised bottom. The two that take a fee off the top say so, because that is the part a rate comparison hides.
The origination fee is where this goes wrong
A lender can advertise an APR close to the credit union average and still take up to about 10 percent of the loan before you see it. On a $10,000 loan that is a thousand dollars, deducted from what lands in your account, and it does not show up in the headline rate at all. So this page shows no dollar figure for a lender that charges one. A yearly rate saving and a one-off fee are not the same number, and adding them together would flatter exactly the lenders you are least able to check.
The number to beat
Credit unions averaged 10.64 percent on a three year unsecured personal loan, against 12.00 percent at banks, in the NCUA's own comparison dated 26 December 2025. Federal credit unions cannot charge more than 18 percent on a personal loan at all. If your current rate is above the credit union average, the gap times your balance is roughly what a year of not refinancing costs you.

Drop a statement and the audit works out your own gap from your rate and your balance, on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
Car loans are a different question
None of these lenders are on this page for a car loan. Auto refinancing is measured against a different average, 5.53 percent for a 48 month used car at a credit union, and it depends on the age and mileage of the car and on owing less than it is worth. A personal loan quote is not the answer to a car loan, and the site does not offer one as if it were.
Who is not on this list, and why
LightStream and PenFed. Both build their rates from a source that will not answer, so the page served to us literally reads "Maximum APR for a LightStream loan is ." with the figure missing. No number, no listing.
Happy Money. Its own page says it matches you with lending partners rather than funding the loan. This page names lenders, not middlemen.
Every lead marketplace. The comparison sites that pay the most for a personal loan application pay that much because the application is resold, which is how one form turns into weeks of phone calls. None of them appear here and none of them will.
What this page will never do
Rank by what anyone pays us. The order is set by the rates, by the fees and by whether you can actually apply, and nothing else touches it. A checker runs before every deploy that re-sorts every list on this site with the payout flags turned on and then off, and fails the deploy if a single position moves. If a link here is ever paid, it will say so on the link. See the affiliate disclosure and the methodology.
